How our courses are written, reviewed and kept honest

A CPD course is a claim about what somebody now knows. This page sets out how we make that claim safe to rely on.

The quality assurance framework

  • Written against the source, not around it

Courses that carry statutory weight are written against the guidance itself — Keeping Children Safe in Education, the Education Act, the Equality Act — and cite it where a reader would want to check.

  • Reviewed when the guidance moves

A course tied to statutory guidance is reviewed when that guidance changes, not on an annual cycle that happens to miss it.

  • Assessed properly

Every course ends in an assessment with a pass mark and no way past it. Distractors are written to be genuinely tempting to somebody who half knows the answer.

  • Accessible by standard

The platform is built to WCAG 2.2 AA, and accessibility is part of how a course is signed off rather than a retrofit.
